On April 26, 2019, Gulfport Police arrested 24 year old Edward Mickale Barnes IV of Gulfport charging him with two counts of Armed Robbery. The arrest stemmed from an incident which occurred on April 25, 2019 in the 400 block of Glen Valley Way Gulfport. At approximately 10:20 A.M., officers responded to the 400 block of Glen Valley Way to investigate an Armed Robbery complaint. Initial investigation revealed that the suspect walked onto the property of the homeowner, produced a handgun and demanded money from the two victims. The suspect assaulted the one of the victims before fleeing on foot with their personal belongings.
During the course of the investigation, Barnes was developed as a suspect. On April 26, 2019, Gulfport Detectives travelled to Barnes’ residence where he attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody. Barnes was later transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility with a bond set at $500,000.00 by Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner. Barnes was already out on a $225,000.00 bond for two counts of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault which occurred in February of this year.
